Most operational consultants advise from the outside. I've spent 15+ years working from the inside — not just in one function, but across almost every role in a growing MSP. Service desk, operations, dispatch, team leadership, and senior management. I know what the problems look like at every level because I've sat in almost every seat.

Before founding Process Ops, I was in a senior leadership role inside an MSP — responsible for service operations, tool implementation, and the teams using them every day. That's where I learned that most problems don't come from bad people or bad tools. They come from tools that were never properly set up to match how the business actually works.

The problem is usually the system — not the people

Most teams are doing their best inside a structure that makes their job harder than it needs to be. Fix the system and the people perform. Putting pressure on individuals without fixing the environment doesn't work, and it shouldn't.

Implementation — the only thing that matters

A documented process that no one follows is worthless. Everything I build gets implemented into real tools and real behaviour, not left as a PDF in a folder somewhere. If it's not working in practice, we fix it until it does.

Simplicity scales. Complexity doesn't.

Complex processes fail. Not because people are incapable, but because complexity creates friction, and friction creates workarounds. Simple, clear, repeatable processes scale. Every time.

I'm not interested in looking busy. I'm interested in the business running better at the end of an engagement than it did at the start. That's the only metric that matters.
